Your role

The Hotel Internship Program opportunities offered by the company allow students to build upon their classroom studies. They have the chance to learn firsthand about hotel operations and gain a comprehensive understanding of the industry. The program provides a ground-up experience, similar to where the founders and many leaders of the company began their careers.

Participants in the Hotel Internship Program become fully immersed in Marriott's culture and business, enabling them to discover their true calling in the travel industry. The internships are available in various areas of the hotel, offering a diverse range of experiences in hotel management.

By acquiring hands-on experience in the dynamic world of hotel management, participants are better equipped to pursue opportunities after graduation. The program serves as a stepping stone towards exploring their passion, kickstarting their dream careers, and joining the company on their transformative journey.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in entering outstanding invoices into the hotel's accounts payable system, whilst ensuring correct assignment of general codes. Payment of all invoices on a timely basis.
  • Monitoring and checking of all creditor statements to ensure the hotel remains ‘current’ in its payments, whilst also ensuring full recognition of all potential expenditures.
  • Ensuring prior to month-end all unpaid invoices are entered into the accounts payable system. Assisting with a list of any required accruals.
  • Responding to all vendor queries on a timely basis.
  • Assist in other general accounting functions as needed or required by the accountant / purchasing officer/director of Finance.
