Your role

The Hotel Internship Program offers students the chance to expand their classroom studies by gaining firsthand experience in hotel operations. They are looking for a talented student to join the HR team that will work closely as a support to the Learning & Development Manager at Westin Melbourne. This is a great opportunity for someone who is studying and would like to learn all elements of training in a hotel. The right applicant will gain valuable experience in the learning and development field and work on projects to enhance the training needs of the associates alongside the L&D Manager. 

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in onboarding new starters with their training needs
  • Organise locker keys, access cards, staff ID cards and name badges
  • Assist in planning and setting up of training
  • Database maintenance- tracking completed/uncompleted training, assisting with logging in training completed through QR codes
  • Assisting L&D Manager on new training to meet associates' needs in their development 
  • Assist in L&D Manager in Brand Standard Audits to ensure all associates are compliant and following the proper sequences of service
  • Back-of-house project- working on improving associate spaces by coming up with a new design and re-creating the space
  • Maintain communication channels for associates – noticeboards, lift and change room posters etc
  • Assist with enquiries from associates
