Colliers started in Australia in 1976 when three independent and well-established professional real estate services firms located in Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide decided to join forces. The founders named the newly created partnership “Colliers” in honor of the founder's respected mentor, Ronald Collier who encouraged those who worked for him to take an enterprising approach to everyday challenges. Since then it has evolved from an enterprising local business to a top publicly traded global real estate services and investment management company in less than 40 years.
