Cultural & Linguistic Diversity at PwC NZ

Here at PwC, we believe in creating an inclusive culture where everyone can bring their whole selves to work - whatever that means for them - without fear of discrimination. We want our kaimahi to feel a sense of belonging because we know that strong connections in terms of working together effectively help us to solve the most important problems for Aotearoa and our clients. We welcome diverse individuals to help us meet our goal of reflecting the communities of Aotearoa - because we believe that our diversity is our strength and competitive advantage.

PwC is aligned with various organisations and is proud to be one of the founding organisations, and principal partners of Global Women and an active member of Champions for Change, which is an offshoot initiative involving 60+ member organisations from across the motu looking at creating a more “Equitable and Inclusive Aotearoa.”

We are a principal partner of TupuToa, who helps Māori and Pacifica interns gain experience within corporate environments, helping to develop future leaders.

PwC is a Gold Member of Pride Pledge who supports our Rainbow-identifying Kaimahi and Allies through education, support, and events to build awareness.

As such, we have 12 people networks that are central to building a sense of belonging within PwC. These are internal PwC-led networks designed to help increase awareness, bring together like-minded individuals, and build our overall cultural competency. We empower our People Networks to make meaningful changes for PwC.

Our people networks include the following:

PwC Asian Network

PwC Asian Network is a community designed for Asian colleagues and allies at PwC New Zealand. Our network organises a mixture of internal and external presentations, networking and social events throughout the year

Elevate

Elevate is our national network for enabling women to have confidence in their abilities and seize opportunities. Our group works within four pillars: storytelling, networking, advocacy, and education—each of which works with a small team to enhance our outcomes. We have opportunities for everyone to participate based on their desire to lead/learn and the amount of time that they can commit to Elevate.

PwC Latino

Our PwC Latino Community is a diverse and vibrant group of people who share a common cultural heritage from Latin America and a passion for personal and professional growth.

Shine

Our goal is simple - to ensure that PwC is unapologetically rainbow positive - to be the first professional services firm that people think of when they think of “rainbow friendly” Organisations. We amplify Shine’s presence and visibility to connect all members of the LGBTTQIA+ community and allies and allow all members of PwC to shine.

Green team

We are a national community for like-minded, passionate people who want to build a healthier planet. We’re united around a common purpose to work together to build a cleaner, greener firm. We help to raise awareness of environmental issues, advocate for behaviour change across the firm, and get involved in specific projects to help us realise our net zero by 2030 ambition.

Christian Network

To be a faith-based community of loving people who are accessible, non-judgemental, and welcoming to fellow Christians and anyone interested in learning about Christianity in the workplace.
