Pros & Cons
The people, everyone is so kind and supportive and knowledgeable.
Flexible work hours and location.
High diversity and effective team chemistry, everyone respects one another and always loves to help out, especially the new starters.
Workplace flexibility, a good combination of work and career development opportunities.
Lovely and supportive manager. My fellow graduates are brilliant.
The bureaucratic nature of Government... our expertise is often dismissed and the workload and expectations indicate that there is a lack of understanding of the time and technical skill required to do our jobs.
Can get extremely busy.
Work is very specialised, with limited opportunities to learn about what others in the department are doing. Also lack of training and development opportunities.
Occasionally can be let down by the team.
The lack of resources can mean processes are a little slow and outdated.

Positions come up as people move on/retire... As I develop my skills, opportunities for progression can be realised. There is a defined pathway for me to go through as I become more competent in my area.
The culture in the workplace is very committed towards doing our best for the public and many measures are taken to ensure that the information used about the public is recorded and only used in accordance with responsible legislation.
The work culture and inclusivity at Queensland Government is amazing, even as a grad we are asked to be a part of all social events, leadership meetings, and workshops.
The work is engaging and challenging, but not overwhelming. The fellow staff are encouraging and supportive and have taken overt steps to make sure I like it here.
I love my manager, she's incredibly good at what she does and is kind and compassionate. I've been able to be my whole self at work which has been the best part of this experience.
