Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders at Hall & Wilcox

We support and encourage the employment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and invest in dedicated First Nations recruitment and onboarding.

First Nations Pathway Program

Our First Nations Pathway Program (FNPP) is a paid program that provides Australian First Nations university law students with an immersive experience into life at Hall & Wilcox. Our FNPP interns are offered excellent opportunities to learn from and network with the best in the legal industry. They gain tangible experience working on real-world legal matters, which will enable our interns to gain valuable insight into various legal career paths and sectors of interest. Our program also provides valuable opportunities to build networks by meeting partners and lawyers.

First Nations Partnerships

Hall & Wilcox are proud to collaborate with First Nations organisations and legal services nationwide to support First Nations justice and human rights. Some other ways we support workplace career pathways and inclusion is by participating in:

  • Baabayn Aboriginal Corporation, which was founded by five Aboriginal elders from Western Sydney. We attend Baabayn every few months to provide a drop-in clinic for anyone who might have legal problems they need assistance with.
  • Yalari, a charity that supports young indigenous kids from regional and remote areas around Australia to be offered secondary education scholarships at leading boarding schools.
  • ABCN’s First Nations GOALS program, which connects our people with First Nations high school students in mentoring sessions.
  • Supply Nation, an organisation working to connect verified Indigenous businesses to create a more inclusive economy.

Reconciliation Action Plan

We believe that reconciliation is one of the keys to a better future for all Australians. Our Innovate RAP sets out how we will work towards our vision for Reconciliation – an Australia where our First Nations peoples experience equality and dignity under the law and where historical acceptance is entrenched in Australian institutions. We believe in the potential for an Australia where everyone has equal opportunities to thrive.
