Working Hours at Hall & Wilcox

The firm is flexible in terms of work hours, as the number of work hours per week align with how busy the team is and the number of projects and matters that are currently running. Outside of this, the firm is very flexible in terms of hours worked at home and in the office etc.

I tend to come into work at 8.30 am and leave around 5.30-6.00 pm. Hall & Wilcox is a flexible firm when it comes to working hours.

Hours are up and down. This is really team dependent. Some weeks you might be very busy and have to work late, other weeks you will be finishing on time and have a very manageable workload. This is partially up to you and how much work you accept, however, there is always an expectation that graduates will accept work, particularly from more senior members of the team. In terms of working late, I have only had to do it a handful of times for very busy and urgent tasks. Most of the time I am able to finish at around 5.30. One positive I note, is that if you ever do have to work late, team members will often ask if you are OK and if you are managing your workload, it's nice to be supported in this way.

At the moment, my partner is being very flexible with my hours as I have a commute into work so need to leave at a certain time to get the train. I am also not busy enough to require later hours all week so he doesn't enforce that when not necessary.

My usual hours are from about 8:00 am to about 5:30/5:45 pm.

Some areas are little more busy than area so it is a given sometimes you may have to stay back to get things done. Generally, the hours are quite good. There is also flexibility around working from home which really helps.
